What is an Alias ID?
An Alias ID is a secondary email address linked to a user's primary email account.
It can be used to receive emails just like the main email, but it does not have a separate login or mailbox.
Uses of an Alias ID:
Simplifies communication:
Create aliases for departments or roles (e.g.,
support@
,hr@
,info@
) without creating new accounts.
Protects primary email:
You can share an alias publicly while keeping your main email private.
Cost-effective:
No need to create multiple accounts for different purposes; aliases are usually free and easier to manage.
Temporary or project-based emails:
Set up aliases for events, projects, or short-term needs without permanent changes.
Steps to Set an Alias ID in the Admin Panel:
Log in to the Admin Panel using the Postmaster ID (e.g.,
postmaster@domainname.com
).Search for the user ID for which you want to set an alias.
Once the user ID appears in the search results, locate the "Mail" option on the right-hand side.
Click the drop-down arrow next to "Mail."
Under the "Alias ID" section, enter the desired alias.
Click Save to apply the changes.
