Symptoms:
When you rename a folder from Outlook the following symptom will occur
- Folder missing from webmail
- Mail moved to renamed folders getting deleted from the server
Cause:
The root cause of these issues lies in the process of renaming folders in Outlook. When a folder is renamed, the folder with the old name becomes unsubscribed or disabled in webmail. As a result, the server is unable to locate the renamed folder, potentially leading to the deletion of emails that were moved into it after renaming the folder.
Status:
At present, there is a known problem with Outlook's synchronization of renamed folders with webmail.
Workaround:
To work around this issue, use an alternative method to rename subfolders of the Inbox. For example, use webmail to rename folders when it's necessary.
